It is true that we live in a world that is consumer driven, but more so now since we are living in a world in which businesses must market to other businesses through global sourcing and then move on to multinational purchasing in order to be a success. B2B; business to business is the term used to describe this type of operation in the practices global sourcing and multinational purchasing world. This b2b market has been on the rise since e-commerce made its debut and one of those businesses that have increased the dealings of the b2b market and is at the top of global sourcing and multinational purchasing is eBay. EBay is the leader in the online market in business providing other businesses with products and services that benefit business operations.
-How Online Markets Work
Yet how does an online market such as eBay contribute to global sourcing and multinational purchasing? If you surf the eBay website, you will find that there are business’s selling items at wholesale that are targeted to other businesses, which puts them in the right place for multinational purchasing. Although the auction may be more of a b2b market effort, consumers can also buy these products, but in some cases a business will benefit more from these products than a consumer. This is a classic example of using global sourcing to implement multinational purchasing since international companies can get a piece of the pie on eBay. They are exposing themselves on the online market without a lot of the cost of international advertising.
-B2B Via Online Markets Are More Affordable
But we must keep in mind that the online market is full of sites such as eBay that allow businesses to do b2b; business to business marketing without all of the extra costs. Even the smaller businesses can get in on affordable global sourcing to research the best way to use something such as eBay. For example, if the small United States electronics store wants to acquire a video game that was only made in China, they can simply look throughout the online market to find what Chinese company has the item listed within their online store. This is considered multinational purchasing, whereas the Chinese business making their products available on their online store to anywhere in the world for b2b market use is global sourcing. Therefore the Chinese store is contributing to the b2b market and taking advantage of multinational purchasing abilities with a cost as minimal as the price of the website.
-In Conclusion
This is just another case where the online market has contributed to the successful global sourcing and multinational purchasing of b2b market operations and consumer operations. The world is such a complex place, but at the same time things that were once extremely difficult, such as global sourcing and multinational purchasing has become considerably easier with the implementation of the online market. In turn, the b2b market has increased considerably to the point that one business finds it difficult to operate without the other.
